Build a euro purchase basis
Convert the actual purchase amount to euros using your real payment cost. Add freight and transit insurance to the Cyprus entry point without double counting an inclusive shipping quote. Those inputs form the simplified customs value used by this passenger-car model.
Calculate taxes separately
At the general 10% passenger-car duty rate, a €22,000 CIF value gives €2,200 duty. VAT at 19% on €24,200 is €4,598. The subtotal including the vehicle, freight, insurance and these taxes is €28,798, before road-ready extras. Customs valuation and special cases can differ.
Treat origin as an evidence question
A UK invoice alone does not establish preferential origin under the EU–UK arrangements. Zero duty requires qualifying evidence or an applicable relief. The calculator requires an explicit confirmation when zero duty is selected; it cannot inspect or approve your documents.
Add road-ready quotations
Enter RTD registration, first-year road tax and any other confirmed official charges under taxes and fees. Enter inspection, plates, agents, port handling, storage and contingency under services. Zero fields are excluded amounts, not proof that the charge does not apply.
Keep a decision reserve
Ask suppliers about quote validity, exchange conversion, delays and storage. The calculator deliberately has no invented CO₂ or age tariff. Motor-vehicle excise was abolished in 2019; historical excise tables should not be reintroduced as current charges. Confirm registration eligibility independently.
Keep a decision record
Save the date, your assumptions, the relevant official source and each written quote. Recheck the record if your transaction or the rules change. Do not include personal identity documents in a website enquiry.
