How the Cyprus estimate works
Cyprus Customs defines customs value as purchase price plus freight and insurance to the point of entry. Standard passenger-car duty is generally 10%. Import VAT is 19% and is calculated on customs value plus duty.
Customs value = price + freight + insurance
VAT = (customs value + duty) × 19%
When can duty be 0%?
The EU–UK agreement can provide zero tariffs for goods that satisfy the rules of origin and have valid proof. A car merely bought or registered in the UK may have been manufactured elsewhere and may not qualify. Select 0% only after confirming origin evidence with Customs.
What is not included?
Registration, road tax, port and storage charges, customs-agent fees, inspection, conformity work, exchange-rate effects and other purchase costs are excluded.
